Santa Clara County Assemblymember Backs Swalwell; Will Speak at Campaign’s San Jose Town Hall Today
LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, the Swalwell for Governor campaign announced Santa Clara County Assemblyman Patrick Ahrens (AD-26) has endorsed his campaign. Ahrens represents Santa Clara County, including the cities of Cupertino, Santa Clara and Sunnyvale, and parts of San Jose. In the State Assembly, he serves on several committees, including Business and Professions, Budget, Rules, Transportation and Health.
"I've known Eric Swalwell for more than 20 years, he's a proven fighter that California's working families can rely on. Like me, Eric was the first in his family to go to college. He knows what it's like working to get ahead while worrying about falling behind," said Assemblymember Patrick Ahrens. "Eric listens, leads and stands ready to deliver a more affordable, prosperous and safe California for all. I want Eric fighting for us in Sacramento, that's why I'm endorsing him to be our next governor."

Ahrens represents the 26th Assembly District, located in the heart of Silicon Valley within Santa Clara County. A native of Silicon Valley, Ahrens is deeply committed to addressing the challenges faced by his constituents in one of the most dynamic regions of California. Nanette Barragan, Adam Gray, Doris Matsui, Kevin Mullin, Jimmy Panetta, Dr. Raul Ruiz and Mike Thompson, have endorsed Swalwell — in addition to local elected officials across the state.
Swalwell, who represents California’s 14th Congressional District in the East Bay, has pledged to be a “fighter and protector” for California, focusing on affordability, economic growth, and modernizing state government so it works better for everyone.
Current Governor Gavin Newsom is termed out in 2026, leaving this an open seat and a wide open race. Congressman Eric Swalwell is the only candidate currently in Congress and the only one actively standing up to Trump. The Primary Election is June 2, 2026.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, the Swalwell for Governor campaign announced Sacramento Area Congresswoman Doris Matsui (CA-7) has endorsed his campaign. Matsui represents Californians in Sacramento County and parts of Yolo County and Solano County. She is a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, including serving as the ranking member of the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology.
