REP. SWALWELL STATEMENT ON TENTATIVE DEAL FOR SAN FRANCISCO TEACHERS
LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, California’s leading Democratic candidate for governor, Congressman Eric Swalwell, released the following statement:
"I was honored to stand alongside San Francisco teachers this week, and I want to congratulate them on this tentative deal that includes necessary pay raises.
We can no longer live in a society where a CEO's time is worth fifty-thousand dollars an hour, but the person who taught that CEO how to read barely makes enough to survive.
Teachers aren't just employees, they help write the stories of our children's lives, and for that we don't just owe them a raise — we owe them everything."
