CALIFORNIA MEMBERS OF CONGRESS DENOUNCE BASELESS RESIDENCY ATTACKS

11 Members of the CA Congressional Delegation Back Swalwell Following Tom Steyer’s False Attacks

LOS ANGELES, CA— Last night, CA Members of Congress released the following letter in response to Tom Steyer’s campaign spreading a baseless, MAGA-orginated conspiracy theory against Congressman Eric Swalwell.

March 6, 2026

Like all members of the California congressional delegation,we work and live both in this great state and in Washington, DC, representing our constituents in Congress. IAN CALDERON ENDORSES SWALWELL FOR GOVERNOR

Former CA State Assembly Majority Leader Backs Swalwell for Governor; Says Swalwell Will Deliver Real Results

LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, Swalwell for Governor announced Ian Calderon has endorsed his campaign. Calderon was the youngest and longest-serving Majority Leader in state history.

Calderon released the following statement:

“It’s been an honor and a privilege getting to know hard-working Californians as I traveled across the state. While my campaign ends today, my commitment to California and the people who call it home doesn’t.

Californians need a generation of leadership who will make our state more affordable again and deliver real results for working families. That’s why I’m proud to endorse Congressman Eric Swalwell for governor.

As a former Assembly Majority Leader, I’ve seen firsthand that progress only happens when leaders are willing to work together and put people first. The stakes for California couldn’t be higher right now, and people across this state are counting on us to get it right.

Eric has the vision, the toughness and the leadership to win and deliver real results for Californians on day one.”

ABOUT IAN CALDERON

Ian Calderon has spent his career at the intersection of public service, business, and family life, bringing together real-world experience and proven leadership to deliver results for Californians.

In 2012, Ian made history as the first millennial elected to the California Legislature, representing a Los Angeles County district. Four years later, at just 30 years old, he became the youngest and longest-serving Majority Leader in state history.

Over eight years in the Assembly, Ian earned a reputation as a pragmatic leader focused on policies that strengthen California’s economy and improve quality of life for working families.

As Majority Leader, Ian helped author and pass California’s landmark film tax credit program, keeping thousands of middle-class jobs in the entertainment industry and billions in economic activity in-state. He wrote the legislation that created California’s Blockchain Working Group, positioning the state as a national leader in innovation and establishing guidelines for the use of cryptocurrency and emerging technology.

He also fought for his community, securing millions in state funding, including the reopening of the Whittier courthouse, restoring access to justice and revitalizing the local economy.

At the height of his political career, Ian made a different choice: he stepped away to focus on his young family. For the past five years, he has raised four children with his wife Elise and started a small business. This experience outside the Capitol has kept him grounded in the realities California families face every day: rising housing costs, unaffordable childcare, and paychecks that do not keep up with the cost of living.

Eric Swalwell was raised in Dublin, California, by a police officer father and a small business owner mother. The oldest of four sons, he worked paper routes and construction jobs before earning a Division I soccer scholarship and becoming the first in his family to attend college. After serving as an Alameda County prosecutor — where he led the Hate Crimes Unit — Swalwell was elected to the Dublin City Council, then to Congress in 2012. In the House, he has served on the House Intelligence Committee and currently serves on the House Judiciary and Homeland Security Committees, and is the Ranking Member on both the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection and the Judiciary Select Subcommittee on January 6. He and his wife, Brittany, are raising their three young children under the age of 9.
