Protecting our democracy requires more than just promises. It requires a governor with a proven track record who is ready on day one to stand as a frontline protector of our families and our state.

Eric has been a fighter his entire career. From investigating corruption on the House Intelligence Committee to prosecuting the case against Donald Trump when Nancy Pelosi selected him to serve as an Impeachment Manager, Eric has never backed down. When others hesitated, he was the first Member of Congress to sue Trump directly to hold him accountable for inciting violence on January 6th.

Eric also stands as a protector for our immigrant families, having voted to defund mass deportation efforts. He will work to unmask ICE and ensure that federal agents can no longer hide while terrorizing our communities. He will enforce mandatory identification standards; no name and no badge mean no accountability. Rogue agents who violate constitutional rights will never hold a badge in our state.

California is a primary target for federal attacks on our environment, disaster relief, and healthcare. Eric is prepared to block Trump’s rollbacks, secure state-backed funding to bypass federal withholding, preserve Medi-Cal, and reinstate ACA health insurance subsidies against federal cuts.

We can’t afford a governor who needs on-the-job training. Eric fights Trump in an arena you can’t buy your way into. He knows Trump’s tactics, and he’s ready to defend Californians against them.

BUILDING A CALIFORNIA YOU CAN AFFORD

The average first-time homebuyer in California is now 40 years old and facing a $1 million price tag. For decades, we’ve made it too difficult and too expensive to build the homes our families need. Eric’s approach is simple: affordability over red tape.

On day one, Eric will declare a statewide housing emergency to bypass barriers and speed up construction where it is needed most. He will establish a 90-day shot clock, requiring state agencies to provide a definitive “Yes” or “No” on housing permits. He will remove barriers to building nearby jobs and transit and expedite the review of housing lawsuits to end the era of indefinite delays.

To break ground faster, Eric will create a one-stop shop for affordable housing builders to cut through years of paperwork. And he will hold cities accountable by judging them on the actual homes they build, not just the plans they file.

Restoring affordability also means stabilizing the insurance market by shifting climate-disaster costs from homeowners to corporate polluters. He will stop massive utility price hikes by ending monopoly markups and refinancing expensive debt to directly lower your monthly rates.

PROSPERITY FROM THE GROUND UP: AN ECONOMY FOR THE REST OF US

True prosperity begins by putting more money back in the pockets of working families – from lowering the cost of housing and healthcare to slashing the monthly bills that stretch household budgets. 

To sustain growth, Eric will build a resilient economy by empowering local entrepreneurs and rewarding companies that invest in their workers. California should be a haven for the local dreamers who make our state home, yet we often burden small businesses with a minimum tax before they make a profit. His Main Street Tax Holiday will waive this tax for one year, allowing neighborhood shops to reinvest that capital immediately.

He will also introduce a Corporate Fairness Tax to ensure our economy works for everyone, not just the few. He will cut corporate taxes for businesses that keep executive pay within a reasonable range of their median worker, encouraging companies to raise the floor for their entire workforce. For the biggest corporations that choose extreme inequality, he will implement a corporate surcharge to fund the schools, infrastructure, and healthcare our families rely on.

And Eric will launch Wood for Good, a plan to stop treating forest debris as waste to be burned and start treating it as the essential material to build our state more affordably. By converting hazardous overgrowth into fire-resistant engineered wood, he will lower construction costs while creating vital rural jobs and securing a safer, carbon-negative future.

GOVERNMENT AT THE SPEED OF LIFE

California should lead the country in digital governance, proving that government can be as intuitive and responsive as the tools we use every day. Eric will launch CalApp, a single, secure gateway that replaces the confusing patchwork of more than 150 separate state agency websites. This unified dashboard will respect your time, allowing you to access services and settle business with just a few taps.

Modernization also means a Grid Overhaul. Eric will move beyond an aging, centralized system prone to blackouts and build a fire-safe grid by replacing vulnerable equipment with smart sensors. He will end the era of utility “self-inspections” and replace them with independent state audits to ensure shareholders, not families, pay the price for safety failures.
