CONGRESSMEMBERS BROWNLEY, PETERS ENDORSE SWALWELL FOR GOVERNOR

Congressman Swalwell Continues to Grow Support from Southern California Congressional Delegation; 15 House Members from CA Have Now Backed Swalwell

LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, Swalwell for Governor announced Congressmembers Julia Brownley (CA-26) and Scott Peters (CA-50) have endorsed his campaign.

“In Congress, I’ve seen firsthand how Eric Swalwell brings people together to take on tough challenges and deliver results for California,” said Congresswoman Julia Brownley. “Eric understands that strengthening our economy means investing in working families, protecting women’s rights and expanding access to health care. I’m proud to endorse Eric as the next governor because I know he will be a champion working to drive down costs so that everyone has the chance to get ahead.”

“I’ve spent my time in public service promoting policies that encourage economic growth and prosperity. I know what it takes to make real change, and Eric Swalwell does, too,” Congressman Scott Peters said. “I’ve worked alongside him in Congress, I’ve watched him fight tirelessly to tackle the rising cost of living and build an economy that brings opportunity to everyone. Eric is a leader who will fight to make California more affordable and level the economic playing field — and that's why I endorse him for Governor.”

Congresswoman Brownley was elected to Congress in 2012 and has focused on the issues important to Ventura County families: increasing opportunities for middle-class families, bringing down health care costs, making higher education more affordable, preserving and protecting our environment and making sure our veterans receive the services they deserve.

California’s 26th congressional district is located on the South Coast, comprising most of Ventura County as well as a small portion of Los Angeles County.

First elected to Congress in 2012, Congressman Peters has had major legislative victories for veterans, deploying clean energy, reducing drug costs while protecting innovation and confronting the substance abuse crisis. Above all else, Peters works to improve the quality of life for San Diegans.

The 50th congressional district is in San Diego County. It includes coastal and central portions of the city of San Diego.
